Your shop’s walk-in customers are only part of your market. Many Ghanaians now check WhatsApp status and TikTok before they visit a shop. Here is how to sell beyond your shop door.
1. Set up WhatsApp Business properly
Add your shop name, location, opening hours and a product catalogue. Post new arrivals and prices on your status every day. Many customers will message before they visit, so reply quickly and politely.
2. Post short videos
Unboxings, phone comparisons, “best phone under GHS 2,000” videos and quick tips work well on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. People trust a shop they have already seen online.
3. Make paying easy
Accept MoMo payments and display your merchant number clearly. Offer delivery within your town, and for customers in other towns, use trusted delivery or transport services. Only send phones after payment is confirmed.
4. Turn buyers into repeat customers
- Save every customer’s number, with their permission.
- Message them when new models arrive.
- Offer a small discount on their next accessory purchase.
- Follow up after a sale to make sure they are happy.
5. Build trust online
Show real photos of your shop and stock, share customer reviews, and show buyers the IMEI check before they pay. Trust is what turns online viewers into buyers.
