What We Like About the Galaxy A16
A Real AMOLED Screen
The Full HD+ Super AMOLED display has richer colours, deeper blacks and sharper text than the LCD screens on most phones at this price. It’s also easier to read outdoors.
Six Years of Updates
Samsung promises up to six major Android upgrades and six years of security updates. Your MoMo and banking apps stay protected for longer, and the phone keeps its resale value.
A More Flexible Camera
The ultra-wide lens fits a whole shop front or a group photo into one shot, and the 13MP front camera is good for selfies and video calls.
What to Know Before You Buy
- Check for a charger. Samsung often ships only the USB-C cable. Budget for a 25W Samsung charger if yours has none.
- The A08 has a bigger battery. If battery life matters most, the Galaxy A08 has 6,000mAh for just GH₵30 more, but an LCD screen.
- 4G only. For 5G, step up to the Galaxy A17 5G.
Galaxy A16 vs A08 vs A17
- Choose the A16 (GH₵1,920) for the best screen under GH₵2,000.
- Choose the A08 (GH₵1,950) for the longest battery life and IP64 protection.
- Choose the A17 5G (GH₵2,185) for 5G and a camera with optical stabilisation.
