Some basic characteristics distinguish excellent communication from ordinary communication.

Many things can be useful for pitching, group meetings, public presentations, and other forms of communication.

But among all of these, some key points benefit from change more than others. So here are the key things to dramatically improve the quality of your connection:

1. Learn to summarize: Summarizing is key. Nowadays nobody has enough time to read or listen to lengthy content. Being able to take a long list of points or other complex materials and boil them down to a few basic points is very important. You must summarize your story in as few lines as possible. So the most important lesson will be: Don’t just memorize. Try to chew your message. Make it shorter or longer depending on what’s happening in real time.

2. Use of Facts: When someone delivers a message, many will hesitate in that message, but some will certainly criticize or attack the messenger. Therefore, you must base all your assumptions and conclusions largely on facts. You can give yourself some leeway. But whatever content you make available to an audience, stay very fact-based. This is because you will be attacked and questioned, and it is better to have an answer when the time is right.

3. Communicate with the target audience: In a presentation or speech, not only facts are important. However, how these facts are presented is important. Today everyone can read the numbers, but very few people make you sympathize with them, like them, and open you to suggestions. So whenever we need to convey a message, we need to encapsulate it in stories or a personal message that resonates with the audience.

4. Cross-referencing: Try to figure out how your message relates to or reflects the information in articles, books, or direct quotes. If your message is more popular with other people’s existing content, you have more authority. Also, you can relate to and clarify this message based on other existing viewpoints. This allows you to connect and communicate more with the audience.

5. Be prepared: People will have questions and may need you to clarify a point. They want you to answer an irrelevant question. You have to mentally train yourself to face all these scenarios step by step. Some may ask strange questions or misunderstand part of your message. Therefore, it is important to be prepared for all of these scenarios.
