In a significant show of solidarity and commitment, key regional and district leaders have pledged their support for St. Mary’s Seminary Senior High School in Lolobi as preparations intensify for the school’s upcoming Speech and Prize-Giving Day and Homecoming scheduled for June.
Led by the Headmaster, Rev. Fr. Felix Akpah, a delegation from the school—including staff and National Executives of the Old Students’ Association—paid courtesy visits to three key dignitaries: the Oti Regional Minister, Hon. Gyapong Kudjo; the Member of Parliament for Guan, Hon. Fred Agbenyo; and the newly appointed District Chief Executive, Hon. Godfred Koffie Dukormevi.
The delegation included Mr. Senyo N. Kporku, National Secretary, and Mr. Kudjo Mawufemor, National Organizer of the Old Students’ Association.
During a closed-door engagement, Regional Minister Gyapong Kudjo expressed his unwavering support for the school, pledging to attend the upcoming ceremony and potentially bring along the Minister for Education. He also indicated plans to visit the school ahead of the event to assess its immediate needs.
MP Fred Agbenyo, who has previously visited the institution, emphasized the pressing challenges confronting the school. He appealed to the Regional Minister to join efforts in elevating the school’s standards and infrastructure.
Echoing similar sentiments, the DCE, Hon. Dukormevi, assured the school of his readiness to collaborate with stakeholders in addressing key developmental issues affecting the institution.
In response, Rev. Fr. Akpah and the representatives of the Old Students’ Association conveyed deep appreciation for the warm reception and renewed assurances. They emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration and open dialogue as the school prepares for its major events in June.
The engagements mark a positive step towards galvanizing multi-stakeholder support for one of the Oti Region’s respected Catholic boys’ institutions as it gears up to celebrate academic excellence and foster alumni unity.
