In a scathing report, the credibility of the NPP government’s recently launched performance tracker platform has come under intense scrutiny, with allegations surfacing that stolen projects from the previous administration are being falsely touted as accomplishments.
A meticulous audit of the performance tracker platform by the Oti Regional communications officer of the NDC has uncovered disturbing discrepancies. Several capital-intensive projects initiated during the tenure of the previous Mahama-led administration, such as the construction of five E-Blocks, have been deceitfully portrayed as achievements of the current government. Specifically, an E-Block constructed in Yabram has been erroneously claimed by the NPP’s performance tracker as one of their successes.
This egregious level of dishonesty not only reflects poorly on the government but also raises serious questions about its integrity and commitment to transparency. Furthermore, instances where projects facilitated by external entities like the NGO GIFEC, such as computer donations to senior high schools, are being falsely attributed to the government, further exacerbate concerns about the accuracy of the tracker.
A particularly damning revelation from the audit highlights the inclusion of trivial projects, such as a washroom attributed to a District Chief Executive, as notable achievements. Such attempts to garner praise for insignificant undertakings only serve to underscore the desperation of the government.
The implications of these revelations are profound, suggesting a blatant disregard for the truth and a willingness to manipulate data for political gain. It is evident that the NPP’s actions in the Oti Region have severely eroded public trust, as reflected in the outcome of the 2020 elections.
In light of these findings, it is imperative for the government to address these allegations and take concrete steps to restore credibility to its performance tracking initiatives.
