In an ambitious move to solidify his support base and connect with constituents, the former President of Ghana and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), H.E. John Dramani Mahama, is set to embark on a tour of the Oti Region as part of his Building Ghana Tour.
Preparations in the region are reported to be in full swing as the leadership gears up to welcome Mahama. Local officials have been actively engaging with constituents to raise awareness of the impending visit, emphasizing the significance of Mahama’s presence in the region.
Meanwhile, political actors in the Oti Region have been quick to highlight the perceived shortcomings of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area, citing a lack of tangible development initiatives as a reason for their unpopularity among the electorate.
One of Mahama’s key platforms during his tour is the promotion of capital-intensive projects, including the establishment of E-Blocks across the region. These initiatives are aimed at addressing infrastructure deficits and improving access to education, among other benefits.
While Mahama’s immediate focus lies on the Oti Region, he is concurrently engaging with residents of the Greater Accra Region, underscoring the breadth of his campaign efforts.
Expressing his unwavering support for Mahama’s candidacy, Hon. John Kwadjo Gyapong, the Dean and Regional Chairman of the Oti Region, has pledged to rally behind the NDC leader, vowing to secure a resounding victory for the party in the upcoming elections.
As Mahama’s tour gains momentum, all eyes are on the Oti Region, where his message of nation-building and inclusive development is resonating strongly with the electorate.
