In a recent development, the revocation of appointments and subsequent reappointment of twenty-four District Chief Executives (DCEs) by President Akuffo Addo has been met with criticism.

The OTI Regional Communication Officer of the NDC has labeled the move as a mark of incompetence and poor performance.

Questions arise as to the timing of these appointments, with less than ten months left for the current government, led by Akuffo Addo and Bawumia, to transition into opposition.

Critics argue that this raises concerns about the effectiveness of the newly appointed DCEs in such a limited timeframe.

Despite calls from stakeholders, including prominent members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), for a reshuffling of underperforming ministers, the President had previously ignored such suggestions.

Now, the sudden realization of the lack of leadership qualities in many DCEs and MMDCEs raises eyebrows.

He suggests that the timing of the appointments may be a political strategy, possibly aimed at garnering support for Bawumia’s potential candidacy as the Flagbearer in the upcoming 2024 Presidential elections.

However, he concludes with a strong assertion that, regardless of the political strategies employed, the citizens of the country will reject the current leadership come December 7, 2024.
