It’s not surprising such unfounded comment came from the Attorney General at this moment because we are all aware of their struggle to make up their number in parliament for the smooth passage of the obnoxious E- Levy. The Attorney General out of hypocrisy, mischief, and calculated attempt to reduce the numerical strength of the minority group in Parliament was the real motive behind making such a damning, mischievous and premature statement on the floor of Parliament.

The Attorney-General ought to have known better than any ordinary person that, the Buem Constituency Election was free, fair, and legitimate.

The illegality was rather orchestrated by the Electoral Commission on the good people of SALL to deliberately disenfranchised them from getting a representative in the 8th parliament. The attitude of the EC has led to an infringement on the political right of the good people of SALL. This is a grievous and unforgivable sin by the EC. It was this manipulation and orchestration that gave birth to the then Parliamentary candidate of the NPP in Hohoe Constituency, Mr. Peter Amewu to become MP for the Hohoe Constituency.

If the Attorney General is indeed calling for the annulment of any Parliamentary Election, then that should be Hohoe Constituency Parliamentary Election because the EC on 30th December organized a press conference and told the whole world that, the SALL communities would be voting under their mother Constituency which is in Hohoe.
Again the Judgement on the 24th of June has exclusively said that the existing electoral mandate must be preserved under C.I. 95 until after 6th January 2021.

It therefore meant that, the EC has aired when it issued a press statement on 6th December 2020 directing the people of SALL not to vote under their mother Constituency (Hohoe), which has till date created a constitutional crisis and a skewed Democracy with the highest impunity.

We still emphasize that it was the infringement of the voting rights of more than 30,000 people of SALL that made Peter Amewu today as MP for Hohoe. The Attorney General should have therefore called for a fresh polls in the Hohoe Constituency and not that of Buem.
Again, it will be very patriotic on the part of the Attorney General to initiate legal action against Jean Mensah and her cohorts for causing financial loss to the state and for denying the people of SALL a voice in the 8th Parliament of Ghana should the ruling government consider running a fresh election in Hohoe Constituency.

In conclusion, we want to reiterate that, the Attorney General has aired in his pronouncement and should therefore render an apology to the people of Buem Constituency and especially the people of Santrokofi, Akpafu Likpe, and Lolobi for denying them their political rights of voting and electing a representative in the 8th parliament.
