Be patient with yourself, You can do this – Matt Morris

I would assume that most people inherently know the importance of self-growth or what I like to call Kaizen…

Kaizen is the Japanese term that refers to Constant and Never-ending Improvement. (Also called CANI)

Any intelligent person would agree that consuming 15 minutes a day of learning towards becoming a better entrepreneur, parent, lover, leader, etc is a worthy use of time.

You might be asking yourself specifically, “why don’t I do it?”

We read one book on leadeship and it’s not like we’re this super-confident, powerful and awe-inspring leader.

In fact, we might read a few and we don’t notice much difference so what happens for most is, they stop.

Because it didn’t seem to matter.

Growing into a powerful human being is a lot like growing as a human being.

Take one of my children for example.

My son Kaiden.

I don’t notice his height growing on a day to day basis.

Hell, I don’t notice it on a week to week basis and maybe not even on a month-to-moth basis.

But hear me on this:

I still feed him every day!

What would you think of me if I were to say to my son…

“Kaiden, you don’t seem any taller than you were 6 months ago, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!”

I’d get the trophy of worlds worst dad, wouldn’t I?

But listen, my friend…

I have to do one very important thing:

Trust the process.

Part of that process is feeding and loving him every day regardless of whether I see growth or not.

Let’s take what I’ve said and put it back on you, my friend…

Does is ever seem that this personal growth thing doesn’t seem to matter?

Do you ever find yourself beating yourself up for not being farther ahead?

Do you ever wonder what the hell is wrong with you?

If so, I can relate because I feel the exact same thing.

Here’s what I’ll tell you.

2 things.

  1. Trust the process.
  2. Feed yourself and love yourself every day.
