On Tuesday, 22nd June 2021, the president commenced his 2-day tour of the North East Region, with visits to Nalerigu, and Walewale.

Amongst others, he paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of Mamprugu, The Nayiri, Naa Bohogu Mahama Abdulai Sheriga, at his palace in Nalerigu; inspected ongoing work on the construction of a new Regional Co-ordinating Council for the North East Region, also in Nalerigu; addressed a gathering of the Chiefs of Walewale; inspected ongoing work on the construction of a GH¢36 million watermelon juice factory; and also inspected ongoing work on the construction of a rice processing factory in Nasia, all operating under the 1-District-1-Factory
