
Hon. John Peter Amewu Led a delegation of the chiefs and queen mothers from the Fodome traditional Area to pay a courtesy call on the Hon. Ken Ofori Atta( Minister of Finance).
The purpose of the visit was to make a case for the commencement of work on the UHAS Hohoe/Fodome Campus by reiterating on the importance of the infrastructure needs of the campus and highlight its potential benefits when completed. This visit was to request a special intervention of the Finance Minister Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta towards raising the needed finance for work to take off.
The Hohoe campus currently has a student population of over 3,752 students and is earmarked for the School of Public Health, School of Sports and Medical Education, Institute of Traditional and Alternative Medicine, and School of Allied Sciences.
The UHAS Hohoe/Fodome campus currently lacks facilities for teaching, learning, and staff/student accommodation. A timely intervention would help address these challenges and ensure the growth and development of this school/Fodome community.
The Railway Development Minister and MP for Hohoe, Hon. John-peter Amewu who led the delegation appealed to the Finance Minister Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta to make a special case for UHAS Hohoe/Fodome campus project due to its importance to Hohoe Constituency.
The Fodome traditional area delegation was led by Togbega Gbedegbleme Akpatsa II(paramount Chief of the Fodome Traditional Area), Togbe Agbefle I (the Asafofiaga of the Fodome Traditional Area, Tsamiga Raphael Bansah(Chief Linguist), Ametsia Fabian kuamuah (secretary to the Fodome traditional area), Mama Dzigbordi kottoh (Queen mother of Fodome Woe), Mama Yingor ( Makrado queen mother of Fodome Woe), Ametsia Jerry Agala(Special Advisor to the paramount chief), Castro Ahorsu (Fodome).
