You shall not be like the hypocrites (Matthew 6:5)

Too many of us are caught acting as Christians. We live a “spiritual” life, talk “spiritual” language, adopt “spiritual” attitudes, but we are doing the whole thing ourselves. Perhaps indeed we are doing it fairly well, but it is the effort involved that should warn us something is wrong. We force ourselves to refrain from this, from that, from the other, and what a strain it all is! Do you ever have to talk a language not your own? If so you know what I mean. Try as you will it does not flow spontaneously. You have to force yourself to talk that way. But when it comes to speaking your own language, nothing could be easier. You speak it effortlessly, without conscious thought.

Its very spontaneity reveals to everyone what you are. Nothing is so hurtful to a Christian life as playacting, nothing so blessed as when our words, our prayers, our very demeanor, all become a spontaneous expression of the life of Christ our wonderful Lord. Amen!!!

Good Morning. May His Face Shine Upon You and Your Household. Stay Safe and Rapturable.
