I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind (Ecclesiastes 1:14).
Contentment is a Christian virtue. Presenting all things to God is the first step towards contentment. Whoever considers God as his all possesses a heart of contentment. A believer who is friend with the world cannot avoid seeking worldly fame. However, worldly fame and worldly glory can never satisfy the human heart. No matter how much fame one gains he will not be satisfied even for a single day.
Blessed are those who know Christ as their all! Unless we ascend with Christ to the heavenlies and see the vanity of all things under the sun (v.14), we cannot but seek the things of this earth. Unless we are enlightened by the Holy Spirit, who causes us to see that what we have in Christ is eternal and real, we too will seek after the world.
Thank God that we who believe in Christ consider Him as most precious to us. Amen!!!
