Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you (Genesis 28:15).

Here at Bethel, in spite of Jacob’s spiritual state, God had no word of rebuke for him. We certainly would have berated him soundly! And God is holy; He had no liking for Jacob’s deceptions. Yet He did not reprove him. What use would it have been?

Jacob could not change himself, and God did not therefore exhort him to do so. But what was impossible to Jacob God could do, and His words reveal His absolute confidence in Himself. “I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” He knew that His servant could not escape His hand, and that the Jacob who would return years later to Bethel would be a very different man.

“Behold, I am with you.” This is our comfort. Amen!!!

Good Morning. Enjoy His Presence. Stay Safe and Saved.
